Activating the Pay/Donate Tool – Stripe

Rallyhood partners with Stripe to offer a safe, secure, and easy way for you to collect payments right from your Rally. Stripe is one of the world's most secure online payment processors and allows you to start accepting payments immediately.

To begin collecting payments, you'll need to create a Connected Stripe account in your Rally. 

  1. From your Rally's home page, click on the widget icon in the upper-right corner of your Rally's homepage to open up "Rally Settings." 
  2. From Rally Settings Page, Select the "Manage Payments." 
  3. Next, click "Set Up Payment Collection." 

  4. A pop-up window will appear that allows you to set up your Stripe account. Follow the according instructions and input your information in the text fields that appear on your screen to continue. If you already have a Stripe account, click on the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page to select the account. 
  5. Click "Continue."

This will open up the form to create a Connected Stripe Account to your Rally. Once you have your Connected Stripe Account set up in your Rally, you will be able to collect money for:

1) Special Events 

2) Payment Requests

3) Fundraising Pages

4) Online Store (coming soon)

What does it cost? What are the fees?

There is no monthly charge to use any of the Payments features. When it comes to fees, we aim to keep it simple. Since our inception, we set out to make group organizers’ lives easier by centralizing the tools and technology they need to lead their group and create a positive shared experience. As part of that mission,  Rallyhood partnered with Stripe to offer a safe, secure, and easy way for you to collect payments. Rallyhood charges a platform service fee of 2.9% to help cover the hard costs for the ongoing development of valuable functionality and maintenance of the technology we provide for our users. For example, Rallyhood has to pay Stripe a monthly fee per account, in order to implement their API integration, which allows us to provide PCI-LEVEL 1 secure transactions for our users. 

Stripe charges a credit card processing fee of 2.9% + $.30 per transaction. We are committed to making things simple and transparent, so we give organizers a live calculation of any associated fees (platform and credit card processing) right on the page. So as an organizer is creating her tickets or payment requests, she can see exactly what the fees might be without any guessing or confusion. Also, we know every situation is not the same, so we have also given the organizers the option to choose who covers the associated fees—the buyer or the seller. 

If you choose “Add at checkout” the fees are added to the total ticket price. That means as the Event Organizer, you do not have to pay for any fees since it will be added to the total ticket price and fees will be paid by the buyer.

E.g. Ticket Price is $10.00

Buyer Total: $10.91

Seller Receives: $10.00 

If you choose “Include in this price” the buyer will only pay the ticket price at check out and the service fees will be deducted from the amount the Event Organizer collects post-transaction.

E.g. Ticket Price is $10.00

Buyer Total: $10.00

Seller Receives: $9.12 

We aim to provide a simple, seamless experience, and to keep fees as low and fair as possible. For comparison, fees on a $10 ticket in Rallyhood are $.91 vs. $2.24 in EventBrite, which is almost 2.5 X higher than Rallyhood's platform.
